The Land of Quartz and Melody (LOQAM) is Aradia Megido's planet in the Medium. It is a land with a surface crystallized entirely in quartz and scattered with giant music boxes.
Concept and creation[]
- “Quartz and Melody correlate with her Time aspect. Quartz is used in clocks. As for melody, there are giant music box pieces everywhere, probably always turning their great brass columns, churning out creepy melodies that reverberate throughout the land. There's a little music box in her hive ruins there, which she's probably had for a long time. A little clue about destiny for her younger self to consider.”

Geography[]
The Land of Quartz and Melody's jagged crystalline surface is mostly barren, though with aurora-like lights seeming to emanate from within the planet's crust and radiating out into its purple sky. The planet's surface is also scattered with vast stone structures adorned with seemingly functional brass music box parts.
Habitation[]
Though it is unknown what kind of consorts inhabited the Land of Quartz and Melody, Aradia and the planet's connection to the Time make Hephaestus a likely candidate for the planet's denizen; quartz is a key ingredient in Hephaestus' weapon Fear No Anvil.
The planet's resident underlings can be found in shades of cyan matching the surrounding crystal, and appear to drop quartz grist.
History[]
Pre-scratch[]
The scratch construct found on Damara Megido's planet incorporated both LOQAM's quartz and music box elements, indicating her planet may have been the same or at least very similar to her descendant's. After one scratch, it is not clear whether Aradia's planet would have also had such a structure.
Post-scratch[]
Presumably, at some point "prior" to Aradia's arrival, the planet's denizen was prompted by Agents of Derse to start creating an army of underlings.[3]
After Aradia arrived at this planet, Equius Zahhak quickly left his own planet to deliver her new robot body to her here. The two then explored this planet, until Aradia started time travelling. Equius then left to the next planet. LOQAM was destroyed with the other eleven planets when Jack Noir rampaged through the troll session.

He knew she needed to function as Aradia's server player, while he was busy functioning as Aradia's client. I guess in Aradia's estimation Nepeta was among the least likely to make a big deal about Aradia's ghost status, and she's the confidante of Equius, who also knows. Here we also zip to the future to check out Aradia's land, and learn of her Maid of Time designation. Quartz and Melody correlate with her Time aspect. Quartz is used in clocks. He then went about befouling our land with all this sludge, clogging up all our beautiful Pipes, and now it can barely breathe. He was sort of a huge dick. Once he tuckered himself out with all that I guess he decided to take a nap. / The terrible guys? They are a bunch of mean fellows who like to push people around. They are called Agents.”
