The Land of Mounds and Xenon (LOMAX[1]), is Jake English's planet in the Medium.
Concept and creation[]
The planet shares themes with the rest of the sessions' planets of burial places and noble gases, representative of the dead end/inert nature of their session, as well as the fact that the Heroes are called Nobles in such a session.
The acronym LOMAX references Bernie Lomax, the titular character in Weekend at Bernie's, one of Jake's favorite films.
Geography[]

The planet is cut into quarters by some oddly angular canyons filled with clouds of purple gas (likely electrically excited xenon itself). Viewed from space, the canyon resembles a large, purple "X" spanning the planet, potentially a reference to xenon via the first letter. This could also reference to Plato's Timaeus , in which the world soul is cut by two crossing circles forming the letter chi, or "X." It could also be the X which "marks the spot" on a treasure map; the Land of Mounds and Xenon is where the Prospitian battleship landed when it arrived in the session.
There are many shelves/steps dug into the ground, reminiscent of the remains of terraced agriculture. The archaeological explanation is in line with Jake's love of adventure. There are also red post and lintel structures that resemble the Stonehenge standing stones (or other stone circles) peppering the planet. The planet is also covered in green burial barrows, which are presumably the tombs of the Iguanas. Barrows and stone circles were both made in northern Europe in a similar time period in the real Earth.
Habitation[]

There are hordes of undead on the planet, which are the session's Underlings, including a Basilisk-like skeletal creature crawling over a barrow and some smaller skeletons resembling Imps.
History[]
LOMAX's landscape is briefly seen right after Jake enters his session and Roxy attempts to talk to Calliope. It is then given a more in-depth look during [S] Act 6 Act 4 as Jake explores the planet and fights skeletal underlings.
During the 5 months in which the B2 kids fool around their session, Erisolsprite is created by Gamzee and Caliborn gives Jake his uROBuROS juju code, who then sends it to Jane. After Jane indulges in some Trickster shenanigans, she flies off to LOMAX, where she has a brief conversation with a terrified Jake before kicking him on the groin, turning him into a Trickster as well, they then start gushing about how many babies they'll have before they all go to Derse to see Roxy, dragging Erisolsprite along with them.
When the battleship finally enters the B2 session, they land on LOMAX, where Casey raises an army of undead consorts. After a strange ordeal through canonspace, John zaps away to Jake's planet, where he decides to rest on the SLAB OF THE JADED FOOL'S ENNUI (a reference to Problem Sleuth's Hamper Of The Jaded Fool's Ennui
), at first he simply rests on top of it, recieving a passing middle finger by Erisolsprite, but after blowing a bubble out of boredom, he furiously starts doing various activities such as playing cards, ironing his pants, opening a box of fruit gushers, riding his slimer pogo, rekindling his love for Con Air and making the Sburb logo out of cards.
LOMAX is also the planet Karkat Vantas, Rose Lalonde, the Wayward Vagabond, Kanaya Maryam, Dave Strider, and Terezi Pyrope are transported to from their speeding meteor right as John stands victoriously over his card creation, either by Jade Harley or the God Cat (both under the Condesce's control). In the aftermath of [S] GAME OVER, the planet suffered serious damage in its collision with the Land of Tombs and Krypton in the battle between the Condesce and Aranea Serket, what remains of it floating around the Incipisphere before being consumed by the stardust glitches.
Post-retcon, the planet stayed intact as Aranea's plan never came into fruition, and it's where Jake and Tavrosprite are assigned to fight Spades Slick and the Felt by Vriska. While Jake prepared himself for the impending battle, Jasprosesprite^2 suddenly comes through a Fenestrated Wall and prototypes Nepeta's decapitated head with his empty kernelsprite, creating Nepetasprite. Soon after, Vriska calls Jake to execute a plan where Tavrosprite holds Gcat, creating Gcatavrosprite in the process, who does a few reality-warping sneezes before being put to sleep by Vriska.
Jasprose and Nepetasprite then have an Alice in Wonderland-themed date using the fridge currently containing Gamzee Makara as table, where Jake serves the role of the mad hatter, Davesprite then suddenly comes in, explains to Jasprose where he'd been and meets the shit out of Nepetasprite with a firm handshake, accidentally creating Davepetasprite^2 in the process.
After the tea party/date comes to an abrupt end, the two sprite siblings talk for a while before Davepeta flies off to catch up with some bros and fight Lord English while Jake tests out the Flintlocks of Zillyhau. Spades Slick then arrives and drops the oven contaning the Felt onto LOMAX, and while he originally planned to fight Jake as well, something a lot more interesting catches his attention, and so he leaves the Felt for Jake and ARquius to fight in [S] Collide. After a long and messy battle involving lots of time shenanigans, panel punches, a brief truce to eat cookies, and an army of undead consorts, Jake manages to defeat the entirety of the Felt (excluding Cans, Clover and Crowbar) and stands triumphantly on the pile of beaten leprechauns, impressing Crowbar enough for him to drop his cigarrette.
