In Homestuck, this does not particularly apply since the setting is mostly on present-day Earth, where the typical outside actions would exist. Secondly, Sburb is an in-game example but that also is controlled by an in-game character, so... Yeah... The game hasn't been "paused", but there has been one GAME OVER scenario in Homestuck, followed by retcon mechanics modifying the meta-narrative.
