In Homestuck, 2422 is the year that the future scenes featuring the Exiles take place in, as seen on the Appearifier console. The world in 2422 is a very different place from 2009 (413 years after the events featuring the Homestuck Kids). The world was long ago destroyed by Sburb with little trace of civilization left. Six known exiles, the Wayward Vagabond, Serenity, the Peregrine Mendicant, the Aimless Renegade, the Windswept Questant, and the Writ Keeper are the only characters known to exist in the 2422 world, though the fate of the group of Prospitians that accompanied WQ to Earth is unknown. In 2422, Wayward Vagabond comes upon the Skyship Base where Rose Lalonde's house once stood, as seen by the coordinates in the Appearifier (analogous to the Adirondacks in real life), where he is able to contact John Egbert. After the countdown that WV inadvertently starts hits 0, the base - in fact a large, cork-shaped airship, a link to the bottle Rose uses to access the Medium - blasts off into the air and travels westward. The base lands near the Frog Temple in the vicinity of where Jade's Island used to be.
The Peregrine Mendicant is located where John's house once was. In time lapse footage, we see the crater fill with sand as John's former neighborhood becomes a desert. Over many years, a giant white tree emerges from the sand and drops a large object (much like a fruit) bearing the Sburb house logo. Within the base the Peregrine Mendicant tries to contact Jade, causing the terminal with which this is done to explode, at the whim of a Powerful entity. This base takes Peregrine Mendicant to the Frog Temple, where, she, WV, and an Aimless Renegade, guarding Jade's Frog Temple, meet.In the temple, Aimless Renegade sees both of the other exiles, mistakes them for criminals, and attacks them. This situation is eventually defused and the three exiles become companions. AR makes use of munitions and artifacts left in the Frog Temple by Jade Harley and her Grandpa long in the past.
Some time afterwards, a hovering egg-shaped ship appears in the air above the exiles, settling to the ground, and releasing the fourth exile, the Windswept Questant. The Windswept Questant, after familiarizing herself with the three other exiles, crowns PM as the new Prospitian Monarch.
The fourth and presumably last station, scattered into many pieces floating in Earth's orbit, forms the Bec Head Base when the White Queen utilizes a special key on a hidden control panel, and plants itself atop the beheaded idol of the Frog Temple.
When WQ, now serving as PM's advisor, explains to PM what her royal duties entail, she tells her that AR must destroy the four stations with Grandpa's explosives, and reveals to her the presence of a fifth exile, sleeping for many years in the depths of the Frog Temple, charged with the protection of Rose's journal, once discarded by a Draconian Dignitary. It is revealed that Jack Noir came to 2422 in the Lotus Time Capsule to escape the Scratch, immediately after the Writ Keeper emerged from his lotus. He killed WQ and WK, and also AR as he was destroying the bases. Noir also seriously wounded WV, who had the uranium he needed to fuel the machine he needed to use to leave 2422, which he saw was being destroyed by the Red Miles, an act which, hours later, he himself would begin. Throughout this, Noir ignored PM, who was ready to fight him. When Noir left for the Trolls' session, PM put on the Queen's Ring and followed after him, taking WV's body and Serenity with her.
Connections to the PastEdit
The Exiles are former Dersites and Prospitians, each sent to Earth during the Reckoning. Some information revealed by Terezi has shed light on the Exile's roles. They are former citizens of the two kingdoms of the Incipisphere who are sent to the dead Earth to revive civilization and guide the players, via terminals, in Sburb sessions.
It is also shown that the exiles are able to affect the past using equipment in their bases. Wayward Vagabond is able to talk to John via a console and can also appearify items from the past, such as a pumpkin from Jade's house. Each exile appears to be capable of contacting the child who was the client of whoever lived in the location where that exile's base was found.
